US Merchants is an American corporation with headquarters in Beverly Hills, California. In 1983, Jeff Green began supplying shoes, apparel and ladies’ handbags to one of the major warehouse clubs. Over the years, Mr. Green learned the club business from the executives and buyers from whom he dealt with every day. Today, US Merchants is the top provider of packaging, display, and molded storage crates which are proudly made in the USA.
At USM, we offer a turnkey solution. We do everything from packaging and graphic design to tooling and distribution. We look at ourselves as an industry expert because we understand what the buyer is looking for and we deliver. We approach every project as a partner in helping vendors make the right decisions so their product is presented in the best light possible to the buyer. We do not farm out development components like printing, tooling or thermoforming. We don’t do that. When a vendor comes to USM, they know we will control all aspects of the packaging project.

Suppliers manufacture their raw product with or without packaging. US Merchants receives the product and prepares it for retail, including labeling, packaging, and display. We then deliver the product for distribution, using our own transport line, Greenline Transportation™, and other major transporters. Retailers receive and sell the product. Customers are happy and able to purchase the goods that they want and need at excellent prices.
Suppliers and Retailers alike are customers of US Merchants. We design, create, manufacture and deliver custom packaging, merchandising display solutions, and molded plastic merchandise. Our specialties are repackaging and large display packaging, as well as molded plastic merchandise, such as totes and meal trays. US Merchants has numerous proprietary packaging-related patents, including our Pallet Program.
We are the leader and lead innovator in the packaging industry, we are a master distributor, we provide import and export services and expertise, we have our own fleet of delivery trucks, our products are made in the U.S.A., and we exist to serve our customers.

US Merchants is the top provider of packaging, display, and molded storage crates. Our company began over 35 years ago in response to the shoe merchandising needs of one club operator. We now employ over 1500 people; have sites throughout the United States, including California, Virginia, and Mississippi and also in Quebec, Canada; and respond to the packaging and merchandising needs of businesses from all sectors.

We have been doing business with the warehouse clubs since the industry’s early days. The knowledge learned over those years is an extremely valuable asset that can simply not be duplicated by competitors. That expertise not only enables us to understand club buying, merchandising and operating needs but also the needs of club industry suppliers and club members. Club suppliers have come to rely on US Merchant’s packaging services and our counsel regarding how to effectively sell their products to warehouse clubs.
US Merchants is a vertically integrated packaging and distribution company. We purchase raw packaging materials and then use those ingredients to manufacture finished packaging products. Everything involved in producing and delivering clamshell blister packaging, two-piece blister packaging, blister cards, and our retail molded plastic products is done in-house from start to finish. This vertical operation reduces costs and helps to insulate suppliers, retailers, and end-customers from the reliability problems that result in more horizontal supply chains.
The Jeff Green standard and philosophy is focused on the needs of his three main stakeholders; manufacturers, club operators and club members. We treat your product as if it were our own. Packaging individual or multiple items well is one thing, but US Merchants and club operators recognized early on that there was a need to display products in a way that is appealing to customers but does not cost the club operator excessive labor for set-up, maintenance, and tear-down. Enter the US Merchant Pallet Program. We developed and patented the pallet program concept in the club channel and now variants of the Pallet Program are available to all retailers. This “package system,” which includes product/package, display cases, slip sheets, corner posts, pallet tops, shrink-wrap, and pallets is completely patented by US Merchants and has revolutionized retailers’ ability to sell more effectively at the lowest possible price. Our patents on the Pallet Program serve to protect our investment in the system that has become an industry standard.
